Canadian Screen Awards announce winners in Comedy Categories

The Canadian Screen Awards announced the winners of Comedy Categories on Wednesday, May 27 through two virtual award shows: Canadian Screen Awards for Crafts in Scripted Programs, and Canadian Screen Awards for Scripted Programs & Performance. The programs were short and sweet, and did not include acceptance speeches, although The Academy is encouraging winners to post them online. The 7pm show for Crafts in Scripted Programs was narrated by Evany Rosen and Kayla Lorette of Crave’s New Eden. The winners of the Comedy Categories in Crafts in Scripted Programs are:

Best Direction, Comedy: Jacob Tierney, Letterkenny 

Best Direction, Variety or Sketch Comedy: Jordan Canning, Aleysa Young, Baroness von Sketch Show

Best Picture Editing, Comedy: Baroness von Sketch Show (Mike Fly, Marianna Khoury, Aren Hansen, Sean Song, Nick Wong)

Best Photography, Comedy: Robert Scarborough, Baroness von Sketch Show

Best Writing, Comedy: Letterkenny (Jared Keeso, Jacob Tierney)

Golden Screen Award for TV Drama or Comedy: A TIE - Private Eyes, and Murdoch Mysteries

Best Sketch Comedy Show & Ensemble Performance: Baroness von Sketch Show (Jamie Brown, Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne, Jennifer Whalen, Graham Ludlow, Jeff Peeler)

Best Comedy Series: Schitt's Creek (Eugene Levy, Daniel Levy, Andrew Barnsley, Fred Levy, David West Read, Ben feign, Michael Short, Rupinder Gill, and Colin Brunton)
